Could you post some info about connection to UNIX and throughput. I am an undergraduate senior in electrical engineering, and I am looking into connecting to UNIX, Compuserve, and Prodigy, as well as to other modems. Most of the connections will be over local lines. I hope to get away from my old USR1200. Almost all of our university's (prime host) modems are USRobotics 9600 HST (or Dual Standards) since USR builds them about 3 miles away from Northwestern U. How does the PPI fair with USR's? I saw them for $485 at Elek-Tek in Chicago. Does it also support 300/1200/2400? I need 300 for the local library database (Haha!). And 2400 for CI$/Prodigy. Most of the work on UNIX is either interactive or Zmodem. What kinds of download efficiencies do you think I could expect? Thanks in advance! and Happy New Year!
