The data appears at a fixed rate and no flow-control is available. I don't want to make this harder than it has to be, but also don't want to underestimate the job. Has anyone slain this dragon before? If so... any hard-learned lessons? Specifically: 1) Can I just do: OPEN(7,file=com1) READ(7,*) real1, real2, real3 or is there more to it than that? 2) How fast (what baud rate) should I be able to read with a 5 Mhz XT (sorry, we're not real big into DOS) before the fixed-rate data overruns the machine? Thanks in advance. Glen Clark gatech!dscatl!opto!glen
