Message-ID: <1991Jan1.142028.2051@jrix.radig.de> Date: 1 Jan 91 14:20:28 GMT Distribution: comp Organization: Joachim Riedel, Offenbach, West Germany Lines: 27 I read a lot about the discussion what to prefer, a newsgroup or the Coherent-Mailing-list. The following is my opinion: I have no possiblities to ftp so I couldn't get software from /pub/coherent. MWCBBS is (from Germany) too expensive ( 16 Cents for 4.45 seconds). I as a private person have to pay for EMAIL ( 30 Cents/kb ). On the other side it's easier to receive News from the german SUBNET, I now just have the transmission costs. So a Newsgroup like comp.os.minix for Coherent is for me the only affordable solution. I don't want to be a second class coherent user just because of the fact I live in Germany and didn't work at a company or a university with the possiblity to receive/send mail free of charge.
