The 170s & 210s are SCSI II.. right? I've got a Q170S in my A3000, using DiskSpeed 3.1 the max read speed is between 1.03 megabytes/second and 1.05 megabytes/sec. As you can see the difference between "Medium Intensity, no stress" and "High Intensity, CPU & DMA stress" is trivial, a credit to the A3000's DMA controller. Write speeds are marginally slower, about .95 MB/sec to 1.02 MB/sec. By comparison, the 105S that came with the A3000 had a max read speed of around 850K/sec. The 170S is not SCSI II, but it is capable of synchronous mode. -- Blaine Gardner @ Evans & Sutherland 580 Arapeen Drive, SLC, Utah 84108 blgardne%javelin@dsd.es.com ...dsd.es.com!javelin!blgardne (I hope) {decwrl, utah-cs}!esunix!blgardne DoD #0046 My other motorcycle is a Quadracer.
