Your problem is that setclock searches the internal clock at two addresses, $D80000 and $DC0000 by looking for changing register values. If your clock is halted, setclock finds nothing !!! The only thing to do is writing #$6 at $DC0035 or just call restartclock to do the job and your internal clock is back again.
