Having not seen the "man page", I can only guess ... If you remember my demo of my USENIX Facesaver picture program on the Amiga at FAUG last year, you'd remember how slow I commented the WritePixel() routine is; Doug Merritt speeded it up by writing 8 bits at a time to the bitplanes ... Facesaver picture picture display went from 32 seconds to less than 1/4 second ... I suspect that's something along the lines of what the new WritePixelArray8() "might" be doing.
