I have an Atari 800XL and did a bit of Basic/Pascal/6502 programming on it ages ago, but I'd like to return to playing with it. The following questions come up: (1) Can I still get a modem for the 800xl? What would its baud rate be? Would something like Kermit65 be the appropriate software for connecting to bboards and getting software? (2) Is there a C compiler available for the 800XL? I once heard of a pretty good subset of C which didn't support reals, etc. Does anyone know about it? Is it worth bothering with? (3) I have a cartridge called MAC65 which has a pretty nice Macro Assembler. I heard the same company made another programming lang. for the 800XL which came in a cartridge, and came with a compiler that would produce standalone code. Does anyone know anything about that language? Is it worth pursuing in terms of what the 800xl can do? (4) If I can manage to get a modem, where could I get software from? (5) How can I get more memory on the 6502, and what would be the procedure for accessing that memory? Thanks, Mayer.
