Message-ID: <2772E81F.19805@maccs.dcss.mcmaster.ca> Date: 22 Dec 90 04:59:11 GMT Organization: McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Lines: 22 I don't know how popular they were, but here in Canada Atari used to sell the 520 with a monitor model PS3000. The PS3000 had the SS drive built in right into the monitor case, right below the picture tube. Does anyone have experience with upgrading these from single- to double-sided? As a special favour to a friend, I've taken it upon myself to upgrade his system, starting with the floppy. But both the monitor and the floppy connectors are on one board and now I'm confused. If I can't replace the mechanism, how about adding an external, but the *external* has to be drive A. Is this possible? I've thought of one other option. How does the Atari policy on upgrades go? What if I wanted to trade the monitor+drive for and an external drive and monitor? Thanks for your advice. -- John Schmitt johns@maccs.dcss.mcmaster.ca ...!unet!utai!utgpu!maccs!johns
