The overwhelming number of responses asked me to look at a program called Ghostscript. I have not had the time to try out the program yet, but the executable was obtainable from prep.ai.mit.edu, and so was the source. A summary of responses is attached below. Thanks to all who replied. - Vijay Srinivasan ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I think Ghostscript is what you need. It can be used both on unix and ms-dos. I got it to work on unix/X windows. But have'nt worked on the PC yet Ohio University Athens ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I recently posted on this same subject. Almost all of the replies I got where for a program called GhostScript, now in version 2.0. It is available by anonymous ftp from a number of sites, including prep.ai.mit.edu. The source (compilable with Turbo C and tasm/masm) is in the file ghostscript-2.0.tar.Z (or something similar... easily recognisable) in the directory pub/gnu. A pre compiled version (for ega/vga) is hiding under the nameof gs_2_0.exe in the same directory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Try any one of these prep.ai.mit.edu boulder.colorado.edu 128.138.238.18 clutx.clarkson.edu extro.ucc.su.oz.au -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vijay Srinivasan 1223 Teakwood Place North Carolina State University Raleigh, NC 27606 Computer Science department vijay@bvcd.csc.ncsu.edu
