I tried (and liked) Microsoft Works for awhile, but then someone lent me their copy of LotusWorks (formerly Alphaworks) and I must admit I fell in love. Not only is it more flexible, but it is actually easier to use on a single 720k drive system than MSWorks. Once you are in an application, fewer disk accesses seem to be needed. The word processing service is built into the main exe file and so is instantly available; the comm application is only 40k; spreadsheet and database I keep on a second diskette along with a copy of the 59k overlay, and the config program, spellchecker, etc sit on a third diskette. With MSWorks, even though the whole program sat on one diskette, I was continuously flipping disks in and out between the program disk and the data disk. I use it mostly for wp and telecom, so most of what I need most of the time sits on one diskette. Any other LotusWorks users out there? -- ------- ======= ------- ======= ------- ======= ------- ======= ------- ======= uw-beaver!sumax!polari!lsh -- lsh@polari Lee Hauser If I pay for access, I don't have to disclaim ANYTHING!
