I recently obtained the zmodem files from sumex.  I built rz & sz on a 
Sun 3/180 running 4.1.  I have been downloading files from the Sun to a 
IIsi running ZTerm 0.85 with no problems (with about 67% efficiency, 
typically).  I have TrailBlazers at both ends talking at 19.2K.

I am unable to upload from any Mac to the Sun.  It seems that the
transfer fails immediately with a CRC error.  I have been unable to get
a single block transferred.  I have tried every combination of options that
I can think of & also used different modems talking at slower speeds. 

My /tmp/rzlog looks like this:
