A number of INIT conflicts under Finder disappear under MultiFinder, and I believe most people feel that memory management under MF is quite a bit better than under "UniFinder." I've never had luck with SuperLaserSpool under Finder, for ex., but under MultiFinder it's just fine, and the manufacturer acknowledges that (though they claim that the crashes can be fixed by increasing the size of the System heap). If you're fine under MultiFinder, you might just want to shrug your shoulders and forget running under Finder.
