Reid) Organization: RightBrain Software, Woodside, CA Lines: 30 I could use some help from all you knowledgeable netters out there. I have two NeXT computers now, both running 2.0, both cubes. I have been totally unsuccessful in my attempts to get them to talk to each other over the ethernet. I followed the instructions in Chapter 5 of the sysadmin guide for 2.0, which was all very clear except that if it didn't work when you were done, it wasn't any help at all. I think what I need to do is to make one of my cubes the NetInfo and Configuration Server, which I attempted to do with NetManager, then set it up for Automatic Host Configuration. But it doesn't work, and when I try to set "/" up for auto host configuration, it says that it's a local domain and I can't do that. I think my NetInfo database is not quite right, particularly in the /machines subdirectory, but I have no idea what it's "supposed" to look like, so I can't fix it. I am loath to delete it and start over, mostly because of all the user account data in there already. Any help would be appreciated! Details on request.
