I have a curious problem...  I have a 4/490 running 4.1.  Let's call this
machine "pivot".  When I "finger @pivot", I get:

[pivot]

And that's all...  (I don't get the list of people logged into pivot.)
However, when I type "finger" from pivot, things appear fine.  (Even a
"finger sliu@pivot" barfs.)  Basically, it appears that pivot's
in.fingered is screwing up somehow...
