The /stand and root filesystems should be inside 1024 [just to make sure that unix is below 1024. I have a Maxtor 8380E - with 1600+ cylinders - I have access to all of it. Speaking of Maxtor - I've had a few occurances of my drive suddenly going nuts It sounds like someone knocked the needle across a record. Anyone have an idea what goes on? Also - Maxtor's warranty period starts when the WHOLESALER buys the drive - not the user. I got a good price, but 6 months of Maxtor's warranty period was gone. I don't get the best of feelings talking to them on the phone either. I wish all companies were as good as Telebit in suporting their product. By the way - the first 8380E I got didn't work at all!
