The following individual: TAKAHASHI Naoto Doctoral Program in Engineering, University of Tsukuba ntakahas@is.tsukuba.ac.jp posted diffs to the mit X11R4 code to support the cg9 & cg8 (neither the mit code nor SUN's openwindows 2.0 support this hardware). The pathes were posted in October to comp.sources.x. We have applied these diffs and build a server (p18) under SUNos 4.1 ad 4.1.1. Things to to work pretty well. Occassionaly the colors are messed up - especially after someone runs suntools - and we have to do a clear_colormap before starting X11. Its rather slow (slower than a SS1 color, but faster than a 3/60 color). It has the advantage of providing the two 'side-by-side' screens (mono & color). The patches are available anonymous ftp from alw.nih.gov (128.231.128.251) in pub/cg9_cg8.tar.Z John Powell NIH, DCRT, CSL Bethesda, Md. 20892 jip@alw.nih.gov
