A bird's metabolism is so much faster than a humans, that it would be like keeping food away from a human for a week. Without any problem? WRONG! Sorry for the pissy tone, but I have seen too many "very good" avian vets kill birds. Telling owners that their bird can go without food for three days sends up a clear signal to me that this person is a quack. Remember, all it takes to say you are an avian vet is a membership in the Association of Avian Veterinarians. They do NOT check credentials. Mikki Barry
