Since, I'm not a regular reader of this news-group, sorry for waisting the net-bandwidth. I have a music system (amplifier, cd player and tape deck) which operates in 110V, 60Hz. I would like to take these to my home country. Where the standard line voltage is 220V, 50Hz. Can we simply use a 220-110 step down transformer of required volt-amp and operate the music system? If so, 1) Does the frequency difference affect the performance? 2) What are precautions to be taken for this approach? Is there a better alternative solution to this problem?
