Could anyone explain me how to get files from SIMTEL ?

I also seem to be unable from this site to use ftp to all
kind of machines I see listed, or am I doing something
wrong ?  I do e.g. 'ftp vaxb.acs.unt.edu', and all it tells
me is that that network in unreacheable.

Thanks for any pointers.  If one should know how to get to
other servers (I know howlibnet@uunet.uu.net works) feel free
to enlighten me.
