Message-ID: <1991Jan4.195633.6471@sobeco.com> Date: 4 Jan 91 19:56:33 GMT Sender: @sobeco.com Organization: Groupe Sobeco, Montreal, Canada Lines: 17 Nntp-Posting-Host: argent.sts.sobeco.com Help, I need a cable tester. The Sniffer(tm) is a great protocol analyser, but it is a lousy cable tester. I would like something that knows 10base5, 10base2 and optionaly 10baseT, and transiever cables. I just finnished going through 802.3 spec. and if there is any one out there who would like to tell me what this means in practical day to day terms, I would sure like to hear from you. I would particularly like to know what is different between ethernet and 802.3. -stacy -- "Sorry I had to plug you mister duck, but I'm a sportsman." stacy@sobeco.com - Almyer Fudd uunet!sobeco!stacy
