We have a large Fortran code that needs to be re-written in C. I was thinking if we should run it thru a conversion filter to minimize the total number of man hours. I also have a few general questions regarding the public-domain and commercial language translation programs. How reliable are they? How do they handle system specific function calls? Any comments and/or wisdoms will be welcomed.
