If the paper jams BEFORE Postscript and the printer can get the entire image on the page(be it in fresh toner or ink or whatever), then the page can be printed again. If it happens afterward, there is no way to reprint it because the page is just not there. It would greatly decrease throughput if each page must be kept in memory until the page hits the output bin, memory that is needed to start a new page.
