The problem is that sendmail is set up to parse only three elements of a domain name. We now have four elements in our internal domain names. Here is an example of what happens. Our Domain is Arco.COM An internal domain could be A Mail phil@A.Arco.COM This will work as long as the nameserver A knows how to forward mail to me. But this one: Mail phil@machine.A.Arco.COM produces: No machine Machine.A in domain A.Arco.COM. In vanilla SUNOS 4.1 sendmail.cf, it looks like rule 6 is my problem, but I'm danged if I can figger it out.
