I'm using a Seagate ST07A IDE controller jumpered to the alternate
disk address. I'm finding that, when the disk connected to the ST07A
is powered up before the computer completes the boot, that the computer
hangs.  Has anyone had a similar problem with this controller?

Also, one program causes the drive to spin down and then back up just
before reading a sector of data.
