I'm doing some research for a non-profit organiztion that wants to
computerize the age-old task of assigning students to courses and courses
to classrooms.  They are willing to consider PD/shareware/commercial.

The problem scale:
     300 students, 3 "strong preferences", 5-8 courses
     20 courses total
     10 classrooms

Any suggestions?  Is there a better newsgroup for this posting?
