The above figures are the quotes I received from the submission editors (Amy or Marilyn) at Amazing Computing when they accepted my article to be published in March ( I'll believe it when I see it! (and the $$$)) I followed the author guidelines to the T and was disgusted with the treatment I received. On earlier submissions I never even received notice that they received my packages. This time I called on the phone at each step of the submission process. When I told them I was disgusted with earlier experiences I was told they had changed some staff and now followed the guidelines. THEY DON'T! I had to call them to verify they had my package. I had to call them to find the status (numerous times) of my submission, but they finally accepted. Know I am waiting for the galley proofs that I was supposed to get a month ago. I started this process in June 90 and I hope to complete it within one year. (but I'm not holding my breath) I'm disgusted by the way editors treat authors. From the sound of it this is commonplace among the Amiga rags. I think I have some good ideas, but I'm really not sure if I will go through all of this for $600 again. My next project will/would be a review/ demo of using Amiga TeX and Maple together. All I need to get started is my copy of Maple (waiting for MapleV) and some assurances from an editor that I will be treated with professional courtesy. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jerry J.
