I hope you weren't referring to MY anecdote describing my tormenting the
IBM-PC and not being able to get it to fail!  :-)  :-)

I never, EVER thought I'd have something "good" to say about MS-DOS and an
IBM-PC, esp. when my favorite "line" at user group meetings is:

	"MS-DOS vadanya"

Given the acknowledged presence of the Norton and other tools, there ARE
obviously some failure modes.  But I couldn't induce them during that "party."

But I *can* demonstrate (with 10 seconds to set it up) total corruption of the
filesystem on a Amiga simply by writing a file and turning on/off a modem on
the same circuit (but not in my office, home or lab since I do have surge and
transient protection on the AC circuits).  Perhaps something similar to that
is what also trashes the MS-DOS filesystem; I cannot try that now since that
machine is 450 miles away in our Orange County office.

Hmmm, wonder if the REAL problem is not software but, instead, hardware re:
AC power line trash.  My own Amigas are rock-solid, but ALL of them are run
on protected AC circuits along with UPS systems.

Double hmmm, but that wouldn't explain the situation about the Abra-Mac-Dabra
guy who only needs to look at his Amiga and he'll be greeted with a corrupted
filesystem but his son, using it in the same place, same AC power line, has no
problems at all.

Maybe bad karma!  :-)
