I HAVE to get a hard drive, it seems, in the service of sanity ..a purchase (and condition) I have been putting off for about two years now. I have a A2000 with 1m chip 4m fast and am doing mostly video graphic/animation work and want to move into 24 bit processing soon. My questions are: * The DMA "hassels" that are eluded to in some of the ads... I have picked up that they have to do with graphic intensive reads(?). Should I rule out DMA controllers? * Does vulnerablity to HD misfortune increase with size or speed? IOW.. is a 40 meg 24ms "safer" than a 100 meg 11ms HD? * Is there any advantage to Supra's Wordsync in graphic applications? * Are there any recognized "turkeys" in the HD world? * Is there a "best of the best" HD system for graphic applications if cost is not a factor? * Where can I get reliable comparative HD/controller stats. With all the new stuff out everything that I have is out of date? Thanks for any help.
