About 3 weeks ago, somebody advertised a Rainbow system with LQP-02 and another printer in the Sunday Washington Post. You might try to resurrect the ad a give them a call. I hope you and all others here have a very happy and prosperous New Year. Keep the faith: the Rainbow will live on into the 21st Century. - --- msged 1.99L MSC * Origin: Silver Bullet - Silver Spring, Md. - 301-622-2247 (1:109/417) ------------------------------ Date: 01-01-91 (15:20) To: ANYONE Subject: SERVICING A RAINBOW 100B From: KURT REISLER Any recommendations as to where to get a Rainbow serviced? Possibly I have an old original 2.11 around here that I could sell, but I think you would be better off waiting to get 3.10. - --- msged 1.99L MSC * Origin: Silver Bullet - Silver Spring, Md. - 301-622-2247 (1:109/417) ------------------------------ Date: 01-02-91 (14:02) To: KURT REISLER Subject: SERVICING A RAINBOW 100B From: NOLAN LEE If you are sure that its the system board that failed, call: Efficent Field Service Corp. at 1 800 257-4745. In their last price list (2 Months old), the cost to repair (including parts) is $221.00 with a three day turn aroound. You can call them for more information. They seem to be a pretty good bunch. I know that they repair quite a bit of DEC stuff, complete systems or even just subassemblies and iindi. boards. Good luck with it, and if I can be of further help, drop me a line. Before taking it in for service you should pull the mother board out and reseat all the chips. This may well fix it, it did for me some time ago. He had several other items, including some RAINBOWS, he was clearing outan office in preparation for re-tooling. He had a couple of other printers that sounded interesting, but the price tag was a bit steep. I LIKE this idea that all and sundry are willing to lend a hand! We'll keep a lot of this stuff running in spite of itself! hlh - --- ConfMail V3.31 * Origin: The Pot of Gold - (703-359-6549) (1:109/103) ------------------------------
