[very nice drawing deleted] All EGA cards I've come across have used the following switch-setting for EGA mode : 1 2 3 4 ON OFF OFF ON Switches 5-6 usually set autoswitch-mode etc, and can be left on. > I bought it at a flea market for $20, I just assumed that it was jumpered > to EGA. Since it works in CGA mode, atleast it's a TTL monitor. The problem might be that CGA synchs at somewhere around 15-16 MHz, and EGA requires a monitor that can synch at [a higher frequency, I've forgotten what it is. Probably 18 or 25MHz or something :-)] Borrow a real EGA monitor, and try with it. > I don't know who makes the card, but the word "MITSUBA" is stamped on > the back, although someone did say it was made by GENOA (although there > is no such company listed in the US according to information) Oh, yes, they're there.. Look in BYTE or PC Magazine, they usually advertise their VGA-cards nowadays.. > Any help would be greatly appreciated. > Thanx. > -Fred Cassirer Good luck ! -Terje -- ____________________________________________________________________________ thoger@solan.unit.no | Institute of Physical Chemistry THOGER AT NORUNIT.BITNET | Div. of Computer Assisted Instrumental Analysis | Norwegian Institute of Technology
