ASCII, ANSI, OEM Message-ID: <1991Jan5.085128.25239@agate.berkeley.edu> Date: 5 Jan 91 08:51:28 GMT Sender: usenet@agate.berkeley.edu (USENET Administrator) Organization: ucb Lines: 16 HELP!!! I'm a relatively new to programming on a PC, and I'm doing some file conversion stuff at work. Can somebody explain the dif- ferences between ANSI, ASCII, and OEM (if there are differences)? I also need to know about the significance of those dif- ferences as it pertains to foreign characters, such as the Spanish "enyeh" ('n' with a tilda over it), etc. Please reply to this newsgroup or e-mail to the login below. Thanx in advance, R. Dong rdong@ocf.berkeley.edu
