Hardly what you'd call exotic! Sounds pretty bad. I've always found Nisus to be pretty speedy myself, but I guess it could depend on the length of the file, and of course what Mac you were running it on. Also, what version of Nisus were you using? I've used 2.x and 3.x, but perhaps 1.x versions were much slower.
