You need to run "newconfig nfs" to tell a/ux you have a network
connection, I beleive (I did this recently and telnet works for
me).  a/ux has its own version of MacTCP, and it doesn't obey the
control panel. See the "Setting Up Accounts and Peripherals in A/UX"
a/ux manual, chapter 9 for more help (or man newconfig). -- Don
