Message-ID: <1991Jan3.022010.19468@sobeco.com> Date: 3 Jan 91 02:20:10 GMT Sender: @sobeco.com Organization: Sobeco Technical Services, Research and Development Lines: 15 Originator: lamy@argent.sts.sobeco.com Nntp-Posting-Host: argent.sts.sobeco.com Someone here is seeking a way to make the task of entering about 20 pages of options and parameters for a suite of programs for actuarial analysis better than typing all the numbers in an ASCII file. The ability to provide context-sensitive help and a "fill-in-the-form" approach would be ideal. Short of going to a full-fledged user-interface generator, is there anything in X land that could handle such form-filling activities? Alternately, are there X-based spreadsheets or constraint-solution languages (a la TK Solve of yester years) that could handle such a task? Please do reply by mail, as we tend to expire news quicker than I can read it, I will summarize if anything shows up.
