I am a new X user aand I don't knnow where to begin. Begin without one. Customizing resources is a personal thing, and there is no universal way to say that is "neat" and what is not. I would not advise taking someone else's resource settings and adopting them without understanding them. Use your X applications with the defaults supplied by the authors. You will find them quite useable (and if you don't, report the bug!). As you find things that don't work quite the way you want, aren't the right color or size, etc., customize them. The man pages will tell you the resources to set. If you're looking for something to copy from a friend or start writing yourself, start with .xsession (or .xinitrc, depending on how your site is set up). < Stephen
