The friendly news selector (quick Paul, you want to trademark that
phrase :-) is supposed to be for beginners. Some people who will be
using this won't even have access to a Unix shell. The main target
audience for this program would have a heart attack if they saw vi or
emacs, and I think we can all agree that the line editor used by most
bbs's is not quite <insert sarcasm here> up to editing a 1000 line
file.
