Last year, Eric Klien and I got together to turn a Star Trek story idea
that I had into a script that we could then submit to Paramount for
consideration.  We submitted it around September of 1990 and in November
received a rejection notice from Paramount for it.  I thought people
might be interested in seeing what a standard ST:TNG rejection notice
looks like.

	Dear Eric & David:

	Thank you for sending the spec teleplay ``The Ghosts of
	Yesteryear''.

	Although the producers appreciate your interest in writing
	for ``Star Trek:  The Next Generation'', they are not
	interested in pursuing this material further.

	Due to the high volume of submissions, and a multitude of
	reasons, most script submissions cannot be used.  Therefore,
	it is impossible for our writing staff to provide individual
	notes or comments on returned scripts.

	I have enclosed our fourth season script guidelines, which
	may be helpful on future submissions.
