Blue LEDs are now available from DigiKey Corp.
(701 Brooks Ave. South, P.O. Box 677, Thief River
Falls, MN 56701-0677, 1-800-DIGI-KEY)
They're made by Cree Research in Durham, N.C.
T-1 and T-1-3/4 sizes, $9.75 each ($7.80 each
in 100s).  470nm peak wavelength, 8 uwatts at
20 ma.  BTW, they're made from silicon carbide.
