The posting should reach the mailing list members as well. The group is a moderated group in the technical sense only. Moderated groups, when used properly, encourage posters to send mail to the moderator. In this case, the moderator address is the list itself, canet-d@canet.ca. That will hopefully ensure that the mailing list members can read the messages posted to the newsgroup. As of 12 noon Jan 10, there are 25 subscribers to the mailing list, and an untold number of people subscribing to the news group. For those first reading this via news, let me repeat the announcement I sent out earlier: A new mailing list has been established at the CA*net Network Operations Center. The list is called "canet-d" and can be reached as "canet-d@canet.ca" (or canet-d at utorgpu for those on NetNorth not running a mailer). Requests to join this list should be sent via email to canet-d-request@canet.ca (not to the list itself please). The purpose of the mailing list is simply to provide an open forum for discussion of just about any topic related to CA*net. Since the list is intended to be discussion oriented, no one will assume the responsibility to answer questions sent to this list. Questions will, hopefully, be addressed by the participants of the list. There is an intention to gateway this mailing list into USENET, probably as can.canet.d. Therefore those of you who prefer to use news readers as interfaces to mailing lists may wish to hold off subscribing to the list directly. If you have any questions about the list, feel free to contact me via email. Tom Molnar (molnar@canet.ca)
