Message-ID: <1991Jan11.062311.17146@athena.cs.uga.edu> Date: 11 Jan 91 06:23:11 GMT Sender: boone@athena.cs.uga.edu (Roggie Boone) Distribution: usa Organization: University of Georgia, Athens Lines: 12 I have connected to many anon ftp sites only to find that the files I am interested in have a ".tar.Z" filename extension. Can someone please explain what this extension indicates about the file and if possible how can I use that file (ie, download and use on my 386 PC)? Will I need special software or conversion programs? Please reply to boone@athena.cs.uga.edu Thanks for the help. Roggie Boone University of Georgia
