It's highspeed mode is a Telebit proprietary protocol called PEP. Telebit also sells the T2500 which supports both V.32 and PEP, and the T1700 (I believe) which is V.32, but not PEP. You should be able to connect at 2400. Thanks for your response though; It appears my problem is that my modem is NOT an Hayes Ultra, only a V-Series 9600 and is therefore not a true V.32 modem.
