I am using VersaTrem-Pro program on the Mac to communicate |with mainframe Unix and I can download text files with no problem. The files |transfered to Mac is set to be MSWord file automatically, but it has a little |different icon than the "real" Word files. And when I tried to upload the files |created by Word back to Unix, the VersaTerm program would not list it as one |of the existing files that can be transfered. I don't understand this |phenomenon. Any response on the newsnetowrk or thru email is greatly appreciated The different icons represent a TEXT file as opposed to a Word word-processing document that has margins, formats, etc. When you want to send a file to the UNIX box, make sure you save it as TEXT (no binary formatting codes, etc).
