You can then add on other boards from them (ROI manipulators, image processors, etc) piecewise. They have an external bus between boards so that it doesn't hog VME traffic. They have a software suite called MaxVideo that I personally think sucks, although many love it. There is a public domain package called Zebra from University of Rochester that reputably makes a pretty good interface to the boards.
