does anyone know of a program/tool that makes it possible to design
postscript fonts? i've already heard of fontographer, but it's too
expensive. it would be ideal if there was a p.d. version somewhere, any
ideas?

if i can't get my hands on a font designing program, how easy is it to
design postscript fonts? what does the process involve?
