I am using a personal laser writer IInt for some homebrew postscript pictures involving lots of filled rectangles. Someone has told me that there is a modification to the setgrray routines that will improve them. (By eyeball, it looked like they were basing the grey fills at 75 or a hundred dpi at most -- the pixels they filled in to get thier fills were somewhat larger than 1/300th of an inch) Does anyone know of such a set of routines? It looks like we are getting 32-64 distinct grey levels; I thought a 300 dpi printer could do better. Please reply directly if possible; I tend to get way behind in this group.
