Our customers are experiencing life problems with our current 1/2"
tape. We provide a Kenedy tape drive with our larger systems and
a full backup consumes several tape volumes. In our new systems we
will be offering a different technology but our existing customer
base is in trouble today.

I would like to hear your experiences, good or bad, with 1/2" tape
media. What ones are good, what ones should be avoided and why, ... .

I am most interested in 3600' reels. If I can't get reliable media
in this length then I can write a position paper defending why 3600
tapes are an inferior solution.

I will post a summary of responses here if you wish to limit netnews
bandwidth by mailing to me. However I *DO* read this group so I"ll
see anything posted as well.
