I would vote yes for an X.500 newsgroup.  Someone needs to bite the
bullet and slog through the Usenet procedures (I just did it for
comp.multimedia which should startup in the next week or so).

I agree, BTW, that the netnews paradigm is better than a mailing
list for this type of thing...
