Specifically, it has to do with translating for restricted RFC-822. The address I want to encode is "jens@mot.com" RFC-822 -> jens@mot.com X.400 w/DDA -> /DD.RFC-822=jens(a)mot.com/... RFC-987 -> /DD.RFC-822=jens#l#a#r#mot.com/... As I understand it, the ORName is supposed to be case insensitive. But, if the address is in all upper case, the gateway spits it back as unrecognized. EG: /DD.RFC-822=JENS#l#a#r#MOT.COM/... - Works /DD.RFC-822=JENS#L#A#R#MOT.COM/... - Fails ^^^^^^^ I think they should both work. Am I wrong, or, is this yet another bug in Sun's MHS (Sun's MHS gateway has problems with a majority of the non-alphabetic ASN.1 printable characters, the apostrophe causing us the most grief) ?? -- jens@corp.mot.com Voice: (708) 576-3312 UUCP: uunet!motcid!jens
