Well, it is all well and good to go off doing bilateral registration
solutions, but you must realize that this does not scale, and leads in
the end to having many many more OIDs and defintitions for the same
objects than we can ever want or need.

If you have a way to carry 88 style OID body parts in *$ style integer
identifier body parts, and it is senerally useful, you might want to
propoose it as an Implementors Agreement and achieve broader support and
