Cannot make NetHack work. Message-ID: <1991Jan10.012528.2118@csis.dit.csiro.au> Date: 10 Jan 91 01:25:28 GMT Organization: csis.dit.csiro.au Lines: 16 I cannot get my copy of NetHack to work. It loads up OK and prompts me for name and class, but when it goes to the map of the first level, it gives me a long string of error messages of the form: At found null 16 4 -more- Program in disorder, perhaps you'd better quit -more- This is repeated about 20 times. If I then try to move around, the error reoccur. Have I not installed Hack properly? As a less urgent question: my system is an Amiga 1000 with 2 1/2 Meg ram and 2 floppy drives. NetHack 3.0 is 700+ kB, and so takes ages and ages to load up. Is there any way I can put the NetHack executable on the ram disk and then have that copy used when the user clicks on the NetHack icon. It will quickly become unbearable if I have to wait for it to load off the disk every time I want to play.
